  • Distillation of practical experience building backends. I can see this being useful in a consulting setting, where you’re working with many projects in their infancy.
  • I’m not sure I agree with all the advice presented here (Redis over pg as a primary store, Node over Rails), but there’s a lot of useful info here.
  • Importantly, the author doesn’t bother with the trend du jour, no orchestration, containerization, etc, which really have no place in projects like these (at first).
